who we are

Power2Prevail Community (CIC) was founded by Jade Barnett and Lyle Morgan in June 2024. 

We exist to empower Care-Experienced young people to recognise their worth, own their story, and define success on their own terms – knowing that neither their past nor present circumstances limit their future.

Our motto is “Everyone has the Power2Prevail”.

By supporting care‑experienced young people to build resilience, life skills and stable futures, Power2Prevail contributes to reduced pressure on statutory services, improved employment outcomes, and safer, more connected communities.

OUR SERVICES

JOURNEY2ADULTHOOD

Our flagship programme designed via lived-experience to support care-experienced young people,  16-25, to gain life skills, knowledge and confidence to prepare for their independence transition when they leave care post 18.

BRIDGE2PREVAIL

Mentoring support for young people who are care-experienced, at the edge of care or in kinship care, aged 16–25, to develop the personal and professional skills needed to navigate life successfully and progress toward their goals.

 

COMMUNITY EVENTS

From our Annual Winter Dinner and Insight Days to creative projects, events, and development opportunities, our community activities are designed to reduce isolation, celebrate identity, and open doors to new experiences.

Excellent communication and partnership working with Power2Prevail. I delivered a mini session to young care leavers by introducing my role and the support I can offer. Also discussed sexual health including safe sex; condom demonstration and distribution; brief spoke about consent: sexually transmitted infections and contraception. The young people engaged well and asked questions throughout. The Power2Prevail project is a much needed excellent programme to support vulnerable young people’s journey to adulthood and should be available to all who needs it. It has been reported that the programme will highlight subjects that young people need support with, as they navigate their way through life. Excellent programme.
